Hello, this is the Freestyle 2 Development Team.
First of all, we would like to express our sincere gratitude for the passionate
support you have given to the anniversary update.
After the anniversary event ended, the court may have felt a bit quieter
and less exciting.
To ensure players can enjoy the upcoming winter season with even more
excitement, we will be implementing a Winter Balance Patch on
Wednesday, December 17th.
This update focuses on improving the structural issues of Ranked Mode to
create a more reasonable competitive environment, while adjusting skills
so that each position’s unique characteristics can shine more clearly.
Please check the detailed information below and share your feedback on
the new Season 2 Traits and Balance Patch.
> Developer Note
The upcoming Winter Balance Patch on December 17 (Wed) will introduce
Ranked System Improvements and Season 2 Trait Updates.
In Ranked Mode, the current system tends to make defeat feel much
heavier than the sense of achievement from winning, especially for highly
skilled players.
To reduce this discouraging structure, we have revised the score-calculation
system to minimize unreasonable setbacks.
Along with these improvements, the Season 1: Return of the Elites
season will end, and the new Season 2 will begin.
While Season 1 traits introduced bold changes and diversity,
Season 2 traits aim to strengthen each position’s core role and identity,
making their unique fun stand out more clearly on the court.

[Ranked System Improvements]
1) Ranked Score Calculation System Update
Previously, the score gain/loss in Ranked Mode was adjusted based on the
rating difference between teams.
However, especially in high-skill tiers, players received very little score for
winning but lost a significant amount on defeat.
This structure has been identified as a major factor that discourages
skilled players from competing and increases the burden of losing.
Starting from this season, we will keep the performance-based adjustment
between teams, but strengthen the reward logic so that a clear score gain
is granted for victories, compared to previous seasons.
Through this, we aim to minimize unreasonable situations and provide a more
satisfying sense of return for winning, thereby encouraging more active
participation in Ranked Mode.
→ Rewards will be distributed based on the Ranked tier
achieved before the 12/17 (Wed) maintenance.
→ After the 12/17 (Wed) update, the existing Ranked
scores will be reset, and the new Ranked season will begin with a new
placement test.
2) Ranked Shop Renewal
The items available through Ranked Rewards will be updated.
Items that have been outdated and rarely used will be reduced, and new
items and outfits will be added to increase the spending options for
Ranking Points.

[Season 2 Trait Update]
Following Season 1: Return of the Elites, which was introduced last August,
the Season 2 Trait update will now be implemented.
While Season 1 focused on expanding the usability of major trait skills across
multiple positions to promote gameplay diversity and offer new experiences,
Season 2 places its core emphasis on enhancing the unique identity of each
position.
Accordingly, the usability of cross-position trait skills will be narrowed down,
and each position’s exclusive skills will be further utilized, creating an
environment where traditional playstyles and team synergy can shine even
more on the court.
[12/17 Update Preview]

In addition to the Ranked System improvements and the Season 2 Trait
update mentioned above, a new character from the Awakened Power team
will be released, along with various new events such as the Freestaria Event,
Handwritten Letter Event, and Weekly Login Event, offering players
multiple opportunities to earn rewards.
