Interview with the Tournament Champions

NO.1847 | Date: 2015-12-30 00:33:43

GM Lucy: The NA and EU servers 2015 Winter Crew Tournament has ended and
these teams celebrated their triumph for winning the tournament!

Let us all welcome Project Away and Reborn!

Before we start our interview, I would like to introduce first our champions!

We have here GodOfDash, Blessed and Assists of ProjectAway who dominated the NA Server.  Also, we have Mirxcib and Revenge the EU Server’s champions.

GM Winter: Congratulations guys! Can you tell us a little something about your
crew? From how it started and how did you guys came into Project Away and
Reborn?

Assists: ProjectAway found by three players(Carrot, ProjectAway, Assists) in
Oct 2014. Our goal was playing screen dash style together and to make it
popular so people can easily enjoy that style with others.
However, ProjectAway crew has been shut down by inactivity for quite
long time. This time, it was a project for the tournament by people who
remember its spirit.

lRevenge: Reborn crew was created by me when I decided that I do
not want to represent other crews so I made my own.

Blessed: Project Away is a dash crew, we focus on letting people
know dash and learn them.

IMirxcibI: Revenge already had this crew for a while, they participated
with it in tournaments before. We all talked with each other and agreed
to join a crew to participate in the tournament, didn't really matter what
crew but it ended up being Reborn.

GodOfDash: Project Away was organized by Carrot, Assists and
ProjectAway. Carrot and Assists wanted to make real dash crew first
in NA.

GM Nutmeg: How did you choose the players that will represent your
crew for this tournament?

lRevenge: I just asked them if they wanted to join me and they did.

GodOfDash: After Carrot left, our crew members joined to Omni Pandas
and QNMLGB IIIII. For that reason, we needed to gather our separated
members to prepare tournament. The Crew Project Away is the way for that.

IMirxcibI: We chose the best fundamental players to represent in the
tournament, with as backup if something would happen a dash composition.

Blessed: Assist contacted me half years ago asked me if I want to become
a team with project and him to play dash, and I join the team since then.
It was a pleasure to play with them.

Assists: We are competitive players. We recognized each other long
before the tournament.

GM Swift: Did you all think your team was going to be the champions?
What crew was the biggest threat for the crown?

Assists: Yes, we thought we had a high chance only if we could overcome
two pf teams having ping advantages on rebounds and looseballs.
Qnmlgbiii crew is the biggest threat. Bruh(B) is also a threat for me personally
because [FS]Valioa(pie?) has very good faceup defense against me
holding a ball.

GodOfDash: We think we always have chance to get ring, but the tournament
is really depended on luck. On this tournament, our bracket was hard to go on.
When we reached to the final, I felt we have greatest chance to get ring.

IMirxcibI: Yeah we knew we had an big chance from the beginning,
so we took it, the biggest threat was versing Original, and THE DUDI team

lRevenge: I think we were the favorites to do it and we delivered.
Original had the best chance to take us down but came out short.

Blessed: Yes, We were pretty confidence about this tournament, because we
have been practice a lot before the tournament. Since we been play together
for more than half years, we knew we have strong team chemistry and strategy.
I think S1N is definitely the biggest threat to our team, simply because they
are all west, they have huge advantage on rebound.

GM Porky:  If not your crew, who among the other crews could be the
champions for this tournament and why?

IMirxcibI: If we wouldn't be the champs probably Logic dudi's team or
Original would have taken it.

lRevenge: Probably Original, since they have a lot of experience and team
chemistry.

Blessed: QNMGLB Crew definitely have a chance to be the champion, because ISO
is always a strong strategy against any team. But it is boring to watch.

GodOfDash: QNMLGB IIIII and Omni Pandas

Assists: Qnmlgbiii crew. They have strong defense and safe way to score.

GM Trifecta: What are your crew’s pre-tournament preparations for this big event?

Blessed: We practice a lot before the tournament, and we came up with a lot of
strategy to go against 2PF team, and it all worked great for us.

lRevenge: We started playing together a week before the
tournament, about 10 games a day.

GodOfDash: I and Assists created most tactics of NA dash styles, and we already
got used to it.

IMirxcibI: We just spent sometimes together, do our usual drill to get the team play going.

Assists: We just played fs2 more than usual and checked our offense system in
various situations. Also, we talked in voice when playing.

GM Dime: How do you guys conduct tryouts for your crew? Is there any specific
characteristics or criteria a player must have so he can join Project Away?

Assists: ProjectAway crew has been inactive for almost 6 months. If you are
interested to play with us, tryout for Omni Pandas and Qnmlgbiii.

Blessed: Anyone who prefer to learn dash are welcome.

GodOfDash: We only accept people by recommendation.

lRevenge: Reborn is a crew for friends and fix teams only. There is basically
no more than 10 players and their alternative accounts.

IMirxcibI: Like revenge would say, don't be a garbagenugget.

GM Duke: What was the biggest problem did you encounter in the tournament?

GodOfDash: The biggest problem is we are all in different crews, so we need to get understanding from our own crews.

lRevenge: Besides getting unlucky in a few situations I think we played our best
and didn't have too much problems.

IMirxcibI: Original A, it was a too close of a game
Assists: Ping difference. Many games are judged by ping because it is a HUGE factor affecting rebounds and diving catches. And it really does matter in tournaments where everybody try their best defense. Second chances after missing shots or
blocks are crucial.

Blessed: Rebound. I live Texas which my ping is usually 55-60ms, but it’s not
comparable with those PF who have 20ms. I wish one day the game
environment can be more fair.

GM Nutmeg: Any suggestions or recommendation can you guys give us that can
help future tournaments be more competitive?

Blessed: Yes, make the prize more attractive, other than just some outfit and 7000Gkash.

lRevenge: International LAN tournament.

GodOfDash: Create your own style

Mirxcib: More exclusive items. Things people wanna try their best even more for.

Assists: I want Gamekiss to change their server or solve lag problem. We all know
ping difference & delay are what preventthis game from sports spirit. It's a
common sense that a team with much lower ping wins if both teams
have exact same skills. Right now, players in west areas have big advantages
over rest of whole North America. We don't want any advantage or
disadvantage by huge ping difference in future. I don't mind if I get higher
ping than now if all of players play in fairer(less different) ping.

GM Dime: Any piece of advice for other crews and players who wish to win future
tournaments like you guys?

Assists: Watch your replays and discuss problems with your teammates.
Learn from veterans' play. Don't blame your teammates and never give up.
Every single lose you takes, use them as opportunities to get better.

Mirxcib: GitGud, and win the tournament x)

GodOfDash: Don't be salty when you lose, and Learn from loses

lRevenge: Play a lot, find good friends, get sp cards.

Blessed: For me, the most important thing is not winning the tournament, but who I play with. As long as you can find some friends in the game, and you all have the
same goal, then you have more interests playing the game.
Eventually you will get better and become a champion.

GM Winter: Any shout outs for all the players in the game especially all your supporter?

lRevenge: Shout out to my man Tyler, you can SMD.

Mirxcib: For the people who watched our streams, during the time we were getting ready, and for the people who rooted for us all along along the tournament. Thanks man - IMirxcibI - Revenge – IevilSanta.

GodOfDash: Thank you for supporting us. Specially, QNMLGB IIII and Omni Pandas.

Blessed: Shout out to my awesome teammates Assist and Projectaway, thanks for making this awesome team, and make our dream come true. Also shout out to my brothers in Omni Panda, I wouldn’t able to become a champion without you guys.

Assists: I must say this to Carrot. The memories with you are always within me.
My first tournament teammate brother. Thank you for spirit we had when we
began. GreatWall and Dimsum, you guys are amazing crew leaders and
successfully managed the crews for such a long time. Lastly, I want to say thanks
everyone giving wishes for us.
